Animal Outdoor Solar Panel Ultrasonic Repeller

ANIMAL REPELLER USER MANUAL

Thank you for choosing Pest Destruct Animal Repeller!

Please read and understand these instructions and keep this manual for future references

HOW IT WORKS

Pest Destruct Animal Repeller is designed for permanent service, allowing you to install it once and let it work! It is weather-proof and resistant to all weather conditions, which is why it is suitable for outdoor use.

It uses a solar panel, located on the top of the unit to recharge the internal batteries. The passive infrared sensor- PIR, detects motion and triggers the ultrasonic speaker, which then starts emitting a high-frequency sound that humans cannot hear, but it bothers animals’ hearing and nervous system, making them feel uncomfortable and causing them to leave your space. It chases away common outdoor pests like deer, raccoon, mice, skunks, squirrels, chipmunks, possums, woodpeckers, bats, beetles, earwigs, snakes, armadillos, cats and dogs, and more.

This solar animal repeller is a safe and humane way to keep unwanted animals away.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

1. 3 parts of the spike

2. Solar panel head device

3. Instructions

***Note: spikes come disassembled and securely packed in the bottom part of the box, under the cardboard, which might make them hard to notice. Always make sure you have fully unpacked the product before you start the setup.

SETUP

  1. Please read the manual before you start using the product

  2. Unpack the product completely and confirm that all parts are included

  3. Connect the repeller’s head, spike extensions, and ground stake

  4. On the upper part of the device, you will notice a protective film. The removal of the protective film is optional, its purpose is only to protect the solar panel from scratch, and you can either remove it or leave it on.

  5. Install the unit in a place where it can catch most of the sunlight during the day, and put it pointed towards the place you wish to protect.

  6. Insert the spike into the ground carefully. Please leave the spike 5 inches or more above the ground. It is suggested that you dig a hole and then insert the unit to ensure no damage occurs.

  7. Place the unit in direct sunlight and “OFF” position for 24 hours prior to first use to ensure the product is fully charged. You may repeat this action every time you start using the product again after a long resting time (such as, after winter), or if you had many consecutive cloudy days, which caused the battery to get low.

  8. Once turned ON, the Red-LED light and ultrasonic signal will activate for about 100 seconds. Following this activation, the unit will move to Stand-by mode.

OPERATION AND INSTALLATION

Please install the device facing the direction that animals and pests will come from to have a better effect. The device will activate each time an animal appears within its range. The red light will turn on when motion is detected, indicating that the high-frequency sound is being emitted.  When there is no motion, the unit will go back to standby mode. The red light can be long or short blinking light, and the small ticking sound might appear.

The device is designed to be used outdoors, installing the product in an outdoor area, without many objects directly in front of it as it may diminish the range of the electromagnetic waves.

For flying pests, such as bats, woodpeckers, or animals that normally rest in the trees, place the unit on higher altitudes so that animals can be under direct impact of the ultrasonic waves. The top of the device has a hole for hanging, so the item can also be mounted on a wall, pillar, or balcony as an alternative to mounting in the ground.

Ultrasonic Pest Repeller

Ultrasonic Pest Repeller

How it works:

The electronic Pest Destruct pest repeller adopts modern microelectronic technology to produce automatically changing ultrasound intermittently and alternately. Then, through a unique ultrasonic speaker, it emits ultrasonic waves which make the hearing and nervous systems of pests uncomfortable. Once the device is plugged in, the pests will move away from the area/range the ultrasonic waves are reaching.

Product Specifications

1. Voltage: 100-240V AC, 50/60HZ
2. Power: 2.5w
3. Output Audio: 20-65KHz

Resolution- 1296P/ 1080FHD/ 720P/ VGA

  • Recommended setting (may vary on your personal needs and preferences): 1296FHD

Cyclic record-(Loop recording) Off/ 1Minute/ 3Minutes/ 5Minutes

  • The video recordings will be saved in time segments 1- 3 -5 Minutes depending on your selection within this feature. Loop recording on a dashcam allows for continuous recording even if the SD memory card reaches full capacity. This means older files are overwritten once the SD card reaches its file size limit. In the event of an incident, any files that have been protected by activation of the G- sensor, or by manually pressing the lock button will not be overwritten and will stay on the SD card. Therefore, important clips that can be used for insurance purposes or sent to the Police will stay locked on the card and will not be deleted. This also means that, at some point, your SD card will be full of protected recordings, and the SD Card would need to be formatted in order to make free space.

High Dynamic Range- Off/On

  • It improves contrast in an image while maintaining clarity. HDR can be particularly important in a Dash Cam in helping to produce vibrant and clearer imagery, ultimately resulting in enhanced footage. When driving at night time and in low light levels, HDR can significantly improve image clarity. It will record multiple exposure levels for each frame and conduct tone mapping to ensure the optimum footage is recorded.

Exposure- +3/ +2/ +1/ 0/ -1/ -2/ -3

  • Increasing exposure makes videos and images look lighter or darker. If your video is too dark, the selection of a positive number is recommended. If your video is too bright, select negative numbers

Motion Detection- Off/On

  • Motion detection is a memory-saving feature that only records footage where motion is taking place. It’s supported only when the car is in the ignition.

Recording- Off/On

  • The device has a built-in microphone for recording audio in the cabin. When On is selected, the audio recording will be enabled, and if it is set to Off, an audio recording will be disabled

Date Stamp- Off/On

  • Select ON if you want the date on the recordings

Gravity sensing (G-sensor)- Off/ Low/ Medium/ High

  • The Dash Cam includes a built-in G-Sensor which allows the device to determine when the car has been in a collision. If it detects a collision, it automatically locks the recording being made at the time of the accident. High selection will make the system more sensitive, and low setting ensures the system will react only to greater shocks

Parking guard- Off/On

  • This feature is available only when the car is in the ignition. The parking guard uses the Motion Sensor and G-Sensor to optimize recording functionality while your vehicle is parked. The idea is that when you are parked, the dashcam will be “sleeping” but it will monitor the video image for motion and it will also monitor the G-sensor. If it detects motion or if it detects an impact then the unit will wake up and start recording

Car Number- Off/On

  • Select ON if you want the car number on the recordings

LCD Brightness- Off/ 30 Seconds/ 1Minute/ 2Minutes

  • This option allows you to set the duration after which the device’s display will go dark, and the camera will still keep recording. The screen will turn dark after 30 Seconds/ 1Minute/ 2Minutes, based on the selected option. It is highly recommended to use this feature in order to avoid distractions while driving

Auto Power Off- Off/ 3 Minutes/ 5 Minutes/ 10 Minutes

  • This feature enables the Dashcam to shut down by itself after the selected interval of time (3 Minutes/ 5 Minutes/ 10 Minutes)

Frequency- 50Hz/60Hz

  • Choose 60Hz for the USA

Beep Sound- Off/On

  • Turns the beep sound On or Off when pressing camera buttons

The video recordings will be saved in time segments of 1- 3 -5 Minutes depending on your selection within this feature. This also means that, at some point, your SD card will be full of protected recordings, and the SD Card would need to be formatted in order to make free space.)

HDR: (It improves contrast in an image while maintaining clarity. HDR can be particularly important in a Dash Cam in helping to produce vibrant and clearer imagery, ultimately resulting in enhanced footage. When driving at night time and in low light levels, HDR can significantly improve image clarity. It will record multiple exposure levels for each frame and conduct tone mapping to ensure the optimum footage is recorded.)

  •

Exposure: (Increasing exposure makes videos and images look lighter or darker. If your video is too dark, the selection of a positive number is recommended. If your video is too bright, select negative numbers)

Dual-mode and rear camera installation

Once the rear camera has been connected, tap this icon to switch between front view, rear view, or dual view.

*Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove each of the screws holding your rear license plate in place. Then, pull the plate off and set it aside. Make sure you don't lose the screws, right above the license plate, place the rear camera, and using a marker, mark the two holes through the rear camera stand. Make sure the camera is aligned straight.

*Pop open your trunk and look for a solid interior panel covering the opposite side of your license plate mounting area. Removing this panel will expose the car’s rear wiring chambers.

*Please connect the RED cable to the positive lead of the reverse light wires (The cord that connects your car's tail lights to the dashboard). Reverse light wires are the cords that connect your car’s tail lights to the dashboard. They hook directly into your vehicle’s tail lights and are normally located in the hatch or trunk of your car.

*Using a wire stripper or pliers, peel back the rubber covering the wires. Then, use a screwdriver or other thin tool to poke a hole through the middle of each exposed wire, separating the individual wire strands.  (For safety, make sure you do this while the car is turned off.)

*Attach 1 of your bare wire cables to the camera cord’s power connector. Then, poke your bare wires through the center of the exposed reverse light wires and twist them together. For safety, make sure you wrap the combined wires in electrical tape.

*important* (Make sure you poke your positive (usually red) bare wire through the positive reverse light wire and the negative (usually black) bare wire through the negative reverse light wire.)

*Connect your RCA cable to the camera cord’s video connector if necessary. Then, run it through your vehicle to the area by the fuse box. Depending on your vehicle model, you’ll usually be able to do this by peeling back the automobile’s headliner or side panels and pulling your cable through the exposure chamber.

You have two different installation methods the position of the rear camera depends mostly on the view angle you prefer the most:

Hardwiring Instructions

INTRODUCTION

A hardwire kit is a device used to help you directly connect your dashcam to your vehicle’s fuse box. By hardwiring your dashcam, you’ll be able to run and operate your dashcam 24/7, even when your vehicle is turned off.

The installation process should take around 20 minutes and will require several tools to ensure a safe installation. Before you begin, please get familiar with the Fuse Box of our vehicle. Understanding the role and how the fuse box works will be crucial to the installation process.

Hardwiring your dashcam is an advanced installation method that requires technical know-how. We highly recommend reading through this guide in its entirety before beginning.

***NOTE:  Improper installation and handling may cause serious damage to your vehicle and Dashcam.

  • The seller is not liable for any mishandling or damages that occur due to improper installation or misuse of the device.

  • Please check the health of your vehicle’s battery before installing your hardwire kit and dashcam. If your car battery is in poor health, we recommend replacing your battery.

REQUIRED TOOLS

For hardwiring your Dashcam you will need:

  1. Hardwiring kit

  2. Add-a-Fuse taps and extra fuses ( sizes: ATO (regular), mini fuse, low profile mini fuse, Micro 2 fuse. Fuse sizes vary depending on your vehicle design and model, make sure to check your fuse box to see what type of fuse your vehicle requires)

  3. A multimeter or circuit tester

  4. Pliers, fuse puller, wire crimper, or a clamp

PROCEDURE

  • Locate your fuse box and remove the pannel- The location of your car fuse box will differ from car to car. In most cases, your vehicle’s fuse box can be located inside the engine bay or inside your trunk. Refer to your user manual for the exact location of your battery.

  • Decide which fuse to use- We suggest using fuse slots rated between 10A-30A. Avoid fuses related to safety features, such as airbags, horns, stability control programs, etc. Fuses that control certain elements such as the radio, cigarette lighter, garage door opener, sunroof, etc. are usually safe to use.

Different cars use different fuse types, select the fuse tap that matches the fuse type you have in your car ( ATO (regular), mini fuse, low profile mini fuse, Micro 2 fuse)

  • Hardwire cable includes 2 wires (red wire, and ground-black wire) that will need to be connected to the fuse box. The constant fuse slots will always have power and ACC fuse slots will only have power when the ignition is on.

  • The black wire is ground

  • Check which fuse type your car uses and crimp the red wire of the cable to the appropriate size fuse tap

  • Choose the most suitable fuse. Open your fuse box and use the multimeter to find a constant 12-volt fuse.

  • Probe the fuse you have selected (it can be a lamp or some other minor car fuse) to see if it has constant power (the car must be off, with no ignition, when the car is off, the multimeter should show voltage when you probe it with Multimeter). Using a fuse puller or a pair of pliers, gently remove the fuse you have selected.

  • The fuse tap has two fuse slots: the upper is for powering the Dashcam, use the new fuse (make sure it has lower or equal amperage than the original fuse) and put it in the upper slot, the bottom slot is for the fuse you have taken out of your car, please put it in there.

  • Plug the fuse tap into the fuse box.

IMPORTANT STEP: Make sure you put the fuse tap in the correct orientation. Each fuse slot has a positive and a negative terminal depending on your vehicle’s model. This means that the power is coming into your fuse slot from one side and exiting from the other. Use your circuit tester or multimeter to test each terminal of the constant fuse slot for power.

The terminal with the power is positive and the terminal with no power is negative.

After testing the terminals of the constant fuse slot, insert the fuse tap (Add-a-Fuse)in such a way that the terminal that is furthest away from the wire goes into the positive terminal of the fuse slot.

  • Ground your wire- The metal ground will need to be attached to a metal bolt or screw within the vehicle chassis. This is achieved by loosening the bolt/screw, sliding the connector underneath the bolt, and tightening again.

  • Hide a cable- Lead and tuck the cable up to the headliner and your Dashcam

  • Plug the cable into the Dashcam and turn it on

Note:

  • Make sure your Parking more is turned ON (check settings) so that it can turn on every time the vehicle detects impact
